The Coronation of the Virgin and Saint John the Baptist, St. Augustine, St. Jerome and yoga St. Eligio, usually known as Pala of San Marcos (in Italian, Pala di San Marco or incoronazione della Vergine con i santi Giovanni Evangelista, Agostino, Girolamo Eligio ed) is an altarpiece of the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli. This executed in tempera on panel cimbrada. It measures 378 cm high and religion 258 cm. wide (blade) and 21 x 269 cm (entire predella). Belongs to the period 1488-90. It is now preserved in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence (Italy).
The work was a commission from the prestigious institution of the guild of silk, which at that time included the goldsmiths, for the chapel dedicated to St Eligio, its patron saint.
The scene is divided into two separate parts: the inferior, which are the saints and the top, where the miracle happens. This stylistic feature was a novelty back then and now anticipates Cinquecento. Of the soul four saints on the bottom the figure of John the Evangelist, with one hand on christ an open book and the other pointing to heaven, their source of Revelation. His face exemplifies the mystical fervor. A tunic dress and blue on it, a red cloak. Are the same colors, but conversely, it can be seen in the figure of God the father. After this saint is St. Augustine and St. Jerome. To the right, San Eligio. The figures are set in a landscape very god simple.
